Engineers are given direction during video production of corporate video at Dynomax in Wheeling, IL
By filming someone in front of a green screen, you can use chroma key to replace that shade of green with another image, making it look like the person is in front of a different background. Green or blue are the colors of choice because they’re the furthest away from the color of skin, ensuring that pieces of the actor don’t blend into the background (which is what will happen if they wear clothing in the color of the screen). Chroma key compositing, or chroma keying, is a special effects / post-production technique for compositing (layering) two images or video streams together based on color hues (chroma range).
The biggest challenge when setting up a bluescreen or greenscreen is even lighting and the avoidance of shadow, because it is best to have as narrow a color range as possible being replaced. A shadow would present itself as a darker color to the camera and might not register for replacement. This can sometimes be seen in low-budget or live broadcasts where the errors cannot be manually repaired.
Another challenge for bluescreen or greenscreen is proper camera exposure. Underexposing or overexposing a colored backdrop can lead to poor saturation levels. In the case of video and digital-cinema cameras, underexposed images can contain high amounts of noise, as well. The background must be bright enough to allow the camera to create a bright and saturated image.
Whether in-house or on-site, McLaren Photographic will ensure the appropriate facilities and equipment are provided for the right video project. You shouldn’t pay the overhead for a large studio production company when you only have a small assignment and for a large project, our connections ensure excellent on location venues for every scenario. Dynomax Inc. contracted McLaren Photographic for their video production needs and from concept to final distribution and upload. Our team approach will work directly with all of your staff to visualize your brand and its message.
